Health & Oxygen Come First

An Oxygen flowmeter is a device that measures the flow of Oxygen from oxygen’s dispensing unit to the user/inhaler of the oxygen. It will either be hooked up to a region of a tank of oxygen, or it will be a standalone device that measures the flow from a gas tank. This half is crucial on any oxygen-dispensing device as it provides a quantitative measurement of the flow of gas moving to the user or patient through the system. Usually, it comes customary on the flow valve for the oxygen-dispensing device. Advanced Oxygen flow metering systems can even indicate whether or not a line has blockage or if a tank of Oxygen is unfit to be used.

Meters that measure Oxygen flow appear most frequently on Oxygen tanks and Oxygen concentrators and on machines that make targeted Oxygen. Most systems incorporate the Oxygen flow meter as a part of an O2 regulator valve; however a flow valve can even be a separate device. An O2 regulator valve, generally referred to as a flow regulator, controls the flow of O2 progressing to the user. The regulator valve sometimes has gauges like an Oxygen flow and a pressure meter.

In the medical field, a nurse uses an O2 flow meter to verify that the patient is obtaining the proper quantity of Oxygen. A secondary meter can even act as a fail safe for an O2 dispensing system. Usually, hand-held meters are used for spot checks to confirm that O2 regulator flow meters are functioning properly. Discrepancies within the O2 flow meter reading scan indicate issues with the regulator or leaks inside the O2 system. Since a run-down regulator valve provides a patient or dependent user an incorrect quantity of O2, observation the O2 flow meter readouts is a very important a part of using O2.

Oxygen flow meters always measure the gas flow in liters per minute (Lpm). Most O2 flow meters measure from 0-15 Lpm if they're measuring the flow from a breathing apparatus tank or O2 concentrator. These tools are designed to supply O2 to a patient who’s breathing primarily on his own.

There are Medicalsupplies for helping a patient who cannot breathe on his own and hence offer higher levels of O2 flow. One tool for respiration help referred to as a revival valve, or demand valve, features a higher capability for O2 delivery flow than standard O2 tanks or concentrator regulator valves
